WEATHER NEWS FOR MAURITIUS ISSUED AT 16H30 ON FRIDAY 03 MAY 2024.

GENERAL SITUATION:

A rather strong anticyclone is approaching the Mascarenes from the South-West and will cause a decrease of about 2 degrees Celsius in temperature and will strengthen the wind as from tomorrow.

FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS:
Partly cloudy in the evening.
Cloudy periods late during the night and early tomorrow morning mainly over the Southern part and over the central plateau with passing showers.   

The minimum temperature will vary between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius over the central plateau and between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius over the coastal regions.

Mainly fair during the day tomorrow.

The maximum temperature will vary between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius over the central plateau and between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius along the coasts.

Wind light and variable tonight, blowing from the Southern sector at about 25km/h with peaks of 50 km/h tomorrow.

Sea rough with swells of  the order of 2 metres 50 beyond the reefs.
Ventures in the open seas are not advised.

Tropical cyclone HIDAYA is evolving very far from our region to the North-West of Madagascar and will not influence weather over the Mascarene islands.
